Being Lost

Being or feeling lost can be a fantastic experience.

If you feel confused, you know there’s something that’s not right. That means you have identified an issue, and you have something to work on. That issue can then be small or big, simple or complex, individual or collective.

Not knowing it is usually worse, as it can be like crossing a crowded street with your eyes closed.

Now, that feeling is probably making you feel other things too: you might be sad, you may be frustrated, or you might feel lonely in your thinking, in your decision-making, in what needs to be your next move.

Good job. You’ve identified it. There are two directions you can take now: you can explore it, or you can ignore it. As human beings, our own minds, which are constantly in survival mode, will trick us into ignoring it and continuing with our lives. “Let’s bring the energy elsewhere.”

It doesn’t solve it, it’s not wise.

Now, let’s look at it from a different angle. What’s the goal? Your desire is to stop feeling that way, right? What if there’s no other way of getting rid of that feeling than to look further into it, to go deeper, to the root, to understand what caused it?

Are you willing to invest in yourself to “fix” it?
