Does your voice represent you?
What’s your voice? Does it represent you?
Lately, I’m reading two different streams of opinion regarding the use of AI in content generation, especially on LinkedIn:
On one hand, those who are fed up with LinkedIn posts using AI. For those with some experience, it’s easy to spot them. Sentences like “It’s not X, it’s X”, text like “There are things in life you can’t comprehend”.
On the other hand, some people are explaining how it’s fine if the content is still enjoyable, and on top of that it’s really helping people to express themselves better.
As with anything in life, you can’t please everyone. However, the issue here is not whether using AI is better than not using AI. I’m now consciously going to start a new paragraph and sound like AI (but it’s not AI).
The issue is whether we are reading content written by genuine voices.
Everyone has a voice that represents who they are. It shows how they think, structure ideas, operate, and act. Yet not everyone is able to express themselves with the same effectiveness, or in different environments/platforms, or to the same audiences.
BUT
You are still responsible for your own output. Whatever you say, or in this case write, it’s a representation of your voice, of who you are and how you come across.
How much of your voice are you willing to delegate?
